Functional neuroanatomy of social and perceived internal threat in anxious youth at high-risk for bipolar disorder
Lay Description
We are looking for children ages 8-17 who are anxious or worry a lot AND who have a biological parent with Bipolar Disorder. We are also looking for healthy families in which the parents and child have not received psychiatric diagnoses. Mental health assessments and MRI will be completed.

Inclusion Criteria
- Child or adolescent with anxiety or anxiety symptoms
- Parent with Bipolar Disorder, I or II
Exclusion Criteria
- Child or adolescent with current diagnoses of Bipolar Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Post Traumatic Disorder (PTSD), Obessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), history of head trauma, primary psychotic disorder
- Substance abuse/dependence within 1 month
- MRI exclusion criteria: claustrophobia, any metal objects in body (metal braces)
