All Activities with External Entities

Examples of when disclosure is required:

If your activity reasonably appears to create a conflict of interest OR a conflict of
commitment.

If you are interacting with a For Profit entity.

If you are interacting with an entity in a Foreign Country.

If you receive Federal funding and you receive support from another entity in any way.
Entity-Sponsored Travel

Disclosing travel that is sponsored by an external entity is not a new requirement.

iDisclose obtains details about your Travel Authorization Requests from PeopleSoft.

Your first step in iDisclose is to identify which of your entities is sponsoring the travel.

If the sponsoring entity is Domestic and Non Profit or Government, disclosures created
from travel authorization requests are submitted automatically.

If the sponsoring entity is Foreign or For Profit, disclosures created from travel
authorization requests require additional information. You must complete the disclosure
form and submit it for review.

The status of sponsored travel disclosures is visible to the Travel Authorization Request
process in PeopleSoft.
Board Service

Participation on Boards for professional reasons require disclosure:

When serving on a federal, state or local government agency committee, panel or commission.

When serving as a committee member, an officer or a board member of a professional or scholarly
society, peer reviewed journal.
- Participation on Boards for personal reasons do not require disclosure:

When participation (regardless of compensation) on Outside Boards in which the service is
primarily personal rather than professional, and is performed on one's
own time.
Examples: Boards with a municipality, local religious congregation, neighborhood
association, public, private or parochial school, political organization,
social advocacy organization, youth sports or recreation league, affinity group
such as a botanical society or hobby club.
